The University of Vermont College of Medicine is an American medical school located in Burlington, Vermont and associated with the University of Vermont (UVM). Established in 1822, it is the nation's seventh oldest medical school. The primary teaching hospital for the UVM College of Medicine is The University of Vermont Medical Center (formally known as Fletcher Allen Health Care) in Burlington. The UVM College of Medicine is an allopathic medical school that offers both MD and PhD degrees. It has both traditional, subject-based and more contemporary, organ/system-based components. According to the institution, the UVM College of Medicine offers an "integrated" medical curriculum.
